Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Southeast Texas was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. If the Church ever needed a time step up and serve - this is it! Help us be the hands and feet of Jesus to our brothers and sisters who are hurting and might be displaced.

Please let Pastor Andrew ( know if you come across opportunities for our church to serve. Our church will organize service opportunities in the upcoming weeks, and we also encourage you to serve alongside these churches who have set up and organized relief efforts in our community.

We will be organizing volunteer teams to go out into our communities (locally, and throughout Texas) for most weekend for the foreseeable future. More details will be coming once those have been set up. Please contact Rev. Andrew Keyes and Elder Jon Schwartz to help us remain aware of other opportunities to serve.

  • Serve in Wharton

Wharton is about 45 minutes southwest of our church on Highway 59. This community is one of the ones that was devastated by flood waters. We work with another church to identify those in need of help. As of now the service opportunities include removing items from homes and gutting out carpet, walls, etc.

SPC will be organizing teams to serve in Wharton on Saturdays (morning, afternoon, or full day) and Sunday afternoons (after church). This service opportunity is open to middle school youth thru adults. Contact Rev. Andrew Keyes or Elder Jon Schwartz to join a team.

  • Our church already partners with EFBHNM, and they will need more help than usual this week. Volunteers can bring a printed and filled in volunteer form to volunteer this week from 9:30-3:00, or 12-3 for the afternoon shift. Please contact Pastor Andrew and he'll connect you to the volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers must be middle school and older.

  • Sugar Creek Baptist is sending out teams on a regular basis, and is now implementing Phase 2 of their recovery efforts which consists of disinfecting homes and continuing with cleanup efforts. Learn more about their efforts and how to get involved here.

Volunteers must be middle school and older, and must sign a waiver.

  • Fill out form under "Provide Help" and receive text message and email updates for service opportunities in our areas. River Pointe has a Missouri City campus that meets in Elkins High School.
